About the Tasting Journal

Bottles, moments, and notes along the way…

The Tasting Journal is a record of bottles explored through the podcast—capturing impressions, context, and conversation rather than scores or rankings.

These notes reflect moments in time, shaped by setting, company, and curiosity. They are not definitive judgments, but invitations to taste thoughtfully and form your own conclusions.

How We Taste

Our approach to tasting is grounded in sensory experience and understanding, not evaluation. Rather than assigning ratings or declaring favorites, we focus on noticing—how aroma, flavor, texture, and finish evolve, and how production choices and environment influence what’s in the glass.

Taste is personal. It changes with time, place, and perspective. The goal here is not agreement, but awareness.

What You’ll Find Here

Entries in The Tasting Journal may include:

  • The context in which a bottle was explored
  • Observations across nose, palate, and finish
  • Notes on production, aging, or maturation when relevant
  • Reflections shaped by conversation and experience

Some bottles appear once. Others may return over time as perspective evolves.

A Living Record

The Tasting Journal is not a checklist or a catalog. It’s a living record that grows alongside the podcast and the journey it reflects.

As with bourbon itself, the most meaningful discoveries often come not from chasing the extraordinary, but from paying closer attention to what’s already in front of us.
