Why We’re Going

Where we are.

Both of us are logging in for Bourbon Women’s From Tree to Toast session. The cooperage side of the bourbon story — trees, staves, toast, char — walked through with a working answer to the question of how much of bourbon’s flavor comes from the wood. (Most of it.) Bourbon Women’s education programming is consistently the strongest piece of their work.

About The Event

The detail.

What is From Tree to Toast?

From Tree to Toast is Bourbon Women’s education session built around the cooperage side of the bourbon story — the trees, the staves, the toast and char that shape what the spirit becomes in the barrel. The session walks attendees through the wood-finishing arc, hosted online with rotating distillery partners.

Bourbon Women is the national consumer organization advancing women in American whiskey, founded in 2011 by Peggy Noe Stevens and headquartered in Louisville. The organization operates regional Branches across the country and runs SIPosium, the only consumer-based, female-focused whiskey conference in the U.S.
