Why We’re Going

Where we are.

Both of us are at Kentucky Peerless in Louisville. Sweet mash, single-barrel-only, no chill filtration — three production decisions that matter, all explained by the people who made them. Peerless is the working answer to whether craft Kentucky bourbon can compete with the big houses.

About The Event

The detail.

What is Kentucky Peerless?

Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. at 120 N. 10th Street in Louisville’s Bourbon District is the modern revival of a pre-Prohibition Henderson, Kentucky operation that ran 1889–1917 (DSP-KY-50, one of the oldest distilled spirits plant numbers). The brand was relaunched in March 2015 by Henry Kraver’s fourth- and fifth-generation descendants Corky Taylor and Carson Taylor.

Peerless runs a deliberately small program: every bottle is non-chill filtered, sweet mash (not sour mash), no water added, and all bourbon and rye is bottled as single barrels — no large multi-barrel batching.
