Where we are.
John (and Shauna when in town) is at the Leavenworth Whisk(e)y Society for the monthly blind tasting. Four bottles, no labels, friends of friends in the room — the kind of session where the surprise isn't the bottle, it's where your own palate actually lands.
The detail.
What is the Leavenworth Whisk(e)y Society?
A standing whisk(e)y meetup in Leavenworth, Kansas, organized by friends. The format is a four-bottle blind tasting on a monthly cadence, with rotating themes — high-rye, wheated, bottled-in-bond, single-barrel selections, and the occasional Scotch or Irish flight. The (e) in the name is the tell — the Society includes Scotch, Irish, and world whisky alongside bourbon and rye.
Members are friends of friends, neighbors, and a growing circle of Leavenworth-area whisky-curious adults. The format is the kind of standing meetup that anchors a local whisky community.
