What is Old Elk Distillery?

Old Elk Distillery is the Fort Collins, Colorado craft distillery building wheated bourbon and high-rye expressions on a small-batch program. Founded in 2013 by Curt Richardson (also founder of OtterBox), with Master Distiller Greg Metze — who spent roughly four decades at MGP of Indiana (Master Distiller there 2002–2016) — running the long-cut fermentation-and-distillation process that defines the program. Old Elk was acquired by Middle West Spirits (Columbus, Ohio) in 2024.
