The positionIt's repositioning, not retreat. The same companies cutting production this month are putting nine figures into whiskey aged 6 to 10 years — they're only shutting off the front of the line, the new-make and the barrels they distill for other people, because that's where orders actually dried up. The money is going where they think the money will be: old barrels, not more barrels. The bet is that aged stock runs short, not volume.
