The position"Allocated" still means something for Stagg and Pappy — buy at the distillery, flip it, and the gap still pays for the lottery ticket. But Weller Full Proof, Eagle Rare 17, the barrel-proof bottles? That gap is gone. You can now walk up to a gift-shop counter and buy them at sticker price, no lottery, no application. Same scarcity story, and for half those bottles it's just a costume.

Buffalo Trace then dropped Weller Full Proof Batch 02 in its own gift shop at $49.99, one per visitor: rationing harder and holding price at once, which is the defense signal, not strength. Around it the open channel ran wide — Wild Turkey's Rare Breed Barrel Proof Batch 02 to national retail at 117.2 proof on 7 July, Russell's 13 and Elijah Craig E926 to shelves ungated, MGP's NDP order book down 19%. My Eagle Rare 17 sub-$200 call has no fresh secondary print; October decides that leg, not July.
